The Holtec Selecut® V does exactly that.

What It Is

The Selecut® V is a precision package saw with an extended 8-meter frame, inline power squeeze system, and integrated waste conveyor. It is purpose-built for high-output remanufacturing lines that cannot afford a bottleneck, and it is now operational at our Sweet Home, Oregon facility.

What It Does for Your Order

Squarer packages, faster. The inline power squeeze system automatically squares packages ranging from 8 to 26 feet before every cut. That means no manual pre-alignment step, no added headcount, and no delay between packages.

Plus or minus 1mm cut precision. Every trim is held to 1mm accuracy (0.040″). Your lumber arrives cut to the length you specified, not close to it.

150-plus unit-cuts per shift. At a 55-second top-to-bottom cycle time, the Selecut® V runs nearly twice as fast as comparable systems and keeps pace with our kilns. A high-output shift stays high output.

Better fiber yield on short lengths. Programmable cut depth lets our operators trim multiple short lengths from a single package without cutting through the full stack. Less waste per unit means better value per board foot for you.

A clean line. The integrated waste conveyor handles saw debris through a 9-meter horizontal run with ascending discharge, routing waste out of the cut zone automatically. The floor stays clear and the line keeps moving.

The Selecut® V handles the full range of species PFR works with: Douglas Fir, Hemlock, Western Red Cedar, Alaskan Yellow Cedar, Spruce, Ponderosa Pine, and Sugar Pine. Whether your order comes off one of our four kilns or arrives green for processing, the Selecut® V is ready for it.

Factory-trained engineers handled on-site installation and operator training, so the machine ran correctly from day one.

Part of a Growing Line

The Selecut® V joins a facility that already includes two Baker resaws, Leadermac moulders (L6, L9, and L12), a 350 Optimizer with laser scanning and computer vision, a finger jointer, an inline sander, a high-speed planer with graded sort chain, and four computer-controlled kilns with 400 MBF of Heat Treatment-certified drying capacity. Every piece of equipment on that line is chosen to give us tighter tolerances, more throughput, and better results for our customers.

A PET (Precision End Trim) unit is also on the roadmap, extending that precision further into the line.
